What the Lord has been saying for 2007

by Alice Smith

Several weeks ago, I appeared on CBN’s 700 Club with Pat Robertson to discuss what the Lord might be saying to our nation, and the nations. Some have written to ask what I shared that day.

I told Pat and the viewing audience that I feel the Lord has been revealing several things to me for the near future. First, 2007 and 2008 will be years for increased evangelism. Multitudes will be transformed from darkness into God’s light, many of them from the drug culture, gangs, and homelessness, and a unique addition - the marketplace.

The Lord reminded me of Isaiah 60: 2-4. "For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you. And the nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawning. Lift up your eyes all around, and see. All of them gather themselves; they come to you. Your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side."

While darkness will increase over the earth, God’s glory will be seen on those of us who seek His face. The tension I feel as an intercessor is to realize that the mercy of God will eventually come to an end, and masses of people will be doomed for an eternal hell. (This is especially sad for intercessors who stand in the gap in prayer, and those in full-time ministry.)

Secondly, I said that I feel that many in the United States have no fear of God. The Lord is restoring holiness and purity to His church by uncovering our self-made gods; i.e. money, perversions, reputation, etc. (See Ecc. 12:13-14; 2 Cor. 7:1; Pro.2:5; and Eph. 5:21.)

Delivering the Captives by Alice Smith

Tragically, much of the church operates with a herd mentality of "easy believism". In recent years personal responsibility and accountability in the pulpit and the pew has diminished. This is coming to an end. This will be "a suddenly"…possibly with a mass move of a spiritual awakening in sections of cities in the United States.

Two thousand and seven offers us an open window of grace and mercy to get right with God, with the opportunity to come into the light with secret sins; perversions and problems. If our sin is not dealt with, it will be exposed. (Jer. 17: 9-10) I honestly sense the Lord is weary of Christian behavior that disrespects the holy. (Rev. 3:15-19)

We are on a learning curve to hear and obey what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church. How we respond to His mercy this year will determine the shift toward spiritual awakening or announce the beginnings of destruction and judgment.

The week before I was given this word from the Lord, I had a HUGE burden for those who are being deceived by "the seeker sensitive" gospel. Our society is absorbed with pop psychology from the pulpit weekly. There is no demand on our lives, and no call for repentance. Often the call is to come, have fun, and feel good with us at church. Millions of Americans (and from other nations) who are caught up in this believe they are Christians-but have never been born again! They are lost, separated from God, and playing church just as they have been led.

I awoke abruptly out of a deep sleep on January 12, 2007, ran into my office and wrote what I felt the Lord say to me for our nation, "Apostle Paul said that we see through a glass darkly. God says, the mistake the church makes is when I give you a glimpse of the light, you assume it is all of my light. When you build doctrine on a partial ray of revelation, you have the potential of becoming heretical. Remember, you must discover my true purpose and plan while seeing through a glass darkly."

Next, last October 10, 2006 I heard the phrase "Cracking down the middle of the nation." I don’t know what this might be, but along with it I sensed that there will be significant destruction in our land between June and September of this year.

Finally, in my prayer time I have been jotting down a few impressions from the Lord. Gen. 1:26 says "let them have dominion." This is much bigger than we’ve ever dared to think. The Heb. Word "raw-daw" literally means to reign; subjugate; to rule over; to govern. The Lord is telling us that "we are government." We will never change the system until we begin behaving as government instead of acting as though we are an invading government.

The root of the word kingdom (Gr. Baino) means to pace off the land with the foot. To extend the kingdom of God we must take up our positions as a spiritual government to see the land redeemed by our ruling authority in Christ.
